About Us..

                Our Message

We are chiefly concerned with supporting women's aspiration towards a wider scale of participation in public life. Consequently, our principal objective is to provide researchers, governmental bodies and bureaus, centers, and non governmental organizations with the necessary data, recommendations, studies, statistics on all women's fields.

                Our Objectives

    • Constructing a comprehensive information system empowered with a highly technological access in order to enable users to estimate women's activities in terms of their public life participation, and to base the prospective programs and strategies on empirical grounds in an attempt to get more accurate results rather than the current oscillatory conclusions.

    • Convening on-going discussion meetings among the elites representing Palestinian community classes will encourage other groups to participate more positively in enhancing women's presence in the Palestinian public life.

    • Organizing intellectual, cultural, epistemological activities and programs would broaden women's mentality and increase her awareness of her responsibilities and her rights as well.

    • Sponsoring women-based studies of all its forms, particularly in publishing books, reports or in sponsoring researchers.

    • Contributing in scheduling drafts, bills, schemes, programs and strategies which are planned by governmental or non governmental parties that concern about women's issues.

    • Preparing periodical and non periodical reports regarding  the performance level of governmental and non governmental women-based organizations.

    • Organizing  periodical and non periodical surveys, public opinion polls to recognize the current orientations of women and to evaluate the level of usability of the current- held  women-based programs and policies.

    • Building bonds of contact among women groups and communities, on local and  international level, and opening new passages for exchange and propagating experiences.

    • Advancing modern conceptualizations and instruments of civil and volunteer women-based activities in the Palestinian civil community in a way that could work out effectively.

                Our Strategies

    • Constructing a data base that would include all forms of information on statistics, reports, surveys, periodicals, health care, child, environment, education, training, law, production, heritage, culture, innovations, researches, election, leadership, communal participation, violence, discrimination, family, marriage and work.

    • Establishing a specialized library and a bibliography that keep all relevant data and information to provide researchers with the necessary resources.

    • Establishing a research and a survey unit that would support research studies and organize periodical and urgent public opinion polls, and publicizing these reports and studies.

    • Setting up an evaluation unit that concerns with the efficiency of the activities performed and the conclusions of women-based centers and societies.

    • Designing a website that introduces the center's message, and presents its fields and sectors.

    • Organizing meetings and workshops that would assure new discussion perspectives among the elite who represents all the classes of the Palestinian community, adding some new classes to the previous ones, obtaining a wider scale of support among decision and policy makers in the governmental and non governmental bodies.

    • Constructing and organizing the ties of contact among local or International women-based organizations, or tighten the old ones, in order to generalize and exchange experiences.

        Justifications of Establishing the center

Recently, women-based organizations, as one can easily recognize, have been terribly increased. This increase can be fully realized in the following:

    1. The increase of the registered societies at governmental records.

    1. The increase of programs and activities addressed to women.

    1. The significant presence of women in political life.

    1. The increase of workers in civil-women sector.

    1. The increase of budgets to support women participation in public life.

This increase reflects an exceptional local and international interest of women sectors, which, if wholly motivated, will help in overcoming the elements of backwardness and enhance development process.

According to certain studies, researches and field surveys, many programs and schemes did not obtain commensurate conclusions to the money allocated and to the manpower exerted. Probably this is originally attributed to policy making process itself as it did not, from the very beginning, adopt data base and accurate statistics that could have enabled us to define the actual priorities and needs. It was expected, as the actual circumstances would suggest, that many mini and job-generating projects were doomed to failure. By the same token all efforts of rehabilitation and training exerted  had gone pointless because the plans had not implemented a comprehensive strategy  that could have realized the demands of both local market and the governmental bodies.

Although women sector witnesses an intensified progress in the numbers of workers and activities, it still lacks a comprehensive information center that can provide women and other oriented sectors with the necessary data, statistics ,surveys , studies and recommendations in a way that can make better policies based on empirical statistics.

The current data and information on this field are just abstract number that do not bear any statistical and informative qualities; or they are conducted by independent researchers, or for the benefit of  certain universities , institutions and newspapers. In brief all of them are very few and based chiefly on theoretical approach ,whereas they do not have any statistical or surveying nature.

After examining the records of the Ministry of Interior, we have recognized that there is not any governmental, or even non governmental, information women center.

This project comes in attempt to cover the lack of information and to provide an easy  access to data base and statistics in order to reach a better effective results for all programs and civil policy strategies.
